WTMusic: Tear It Up With Pete Shoulder Of Silverthorne

The We Talk Music podcast is back on the air and in your ear, and this episode’s fantastic guest is the guitarist / vocalist of Silverthorne, Pete Shoulder.

Silverthorne has released an exceptionally strong EP debut titled Tear the Sky Wide Open. Featuring powerful riffs and Pete’s beautifully blistering vocals backed by the brilliant drums of Brian Tichy and excellent bass of Daniel Spree, the EP is an in your face slice of hard rock sure to please fans of groups such as Soundgarden.

Silverthorne and beer, two of our and Pete Shoulders favourite things.

The songs were all written together by Pete and Brian, and we learn the genesis of each and every track on the five song debut. Pete also tells us the band’s secret origin, and how it all originally stemmed from his potentially singing for the Stone Temple Pilots. It’s a great story and we get a lot of details on it here.

Pete has also been fortunate to work with and learn from some legendary rockers over the years, thanks to his time in the bands Winterville and The Union. The sound advice that helped him is something we can all take something from.

The show also gets news about what Pete Shoulder and Silverthorne will be up to next. As well we get his thoughts of writing solo compared to collaborating and how he developed his voice in the first place. This includes an interesting couple of stories about visiting a vocal coach.

We know you’re gonna have fun with this one. It’s a rapid paced interview wit laughs and lots of interesting tidbits to digest, so check it out.
