WTMusic: Angelus Apatrida Reaches Number One

On this, their self titled 7th studio album, and after 20 years together, Angelus Apatrida has reached the very top of the charts in their home country of Spain. This is a monumental achievement for a thrash metal band, and is of historic significance. Now the band, as described to us in this interview with lead vocalist Guillermo Izquierdo, is ready to conquer the rest of the world.

There’s lots of great topics discussed in the show, such as:

  • The energy and anger of the album and how Covid-19 effected the song writing of the album
  • The changing touring plans of Angelus Apatrida due to the pandemic
  • How they handled the recording process while respecting the dangers of the coronavirus
  • Memories of the largest crowd they ever played in front of which numbered around 100,000 people
  • Being received by fans from other countries and what the people of China thought of them
  • Nerves before a show and how to handle it
  • Embracing your influences

There’s more than that to this show too, but if you want to know what you’ll just have to listen to Guillermo Izquierdo on the show before you go and track down and listen to Angelus Apatrida.
