WTMusic WeView Review: Waiting For Good Luck by The Treatment

Do you like the music of 1987? Are you missing that sound from today’s bands? If the answer by you to these two questions was  a similar to me and a yes, then The Treatment are here to provide you with what you need.

A popular act within their home country of England, the treatment are unfortunately underexposed across North America. Hopefully this new album Waiting for Good Luck can remedy that, as this is a band that deserves to be heard.

This fifth studio album mixes the big choruses and groovy hooks of your favorite hard rock bands. And vocalist Tom Rampton mixes a smooth delivery with the proper sandpaper in his voice to give every song the bite it needs. With this being his second album with the band he takes center stage across the songs as a good lead man will.

As the album goes on those 80s influences, while never quite disappearing, give way to a slightly more bluesy style for some of the songs. Luckily the album sequencing perfectly lays down the tracks in an order that always keeps it interesting.

If there is one thing that this album is missing, it’s that big ballad that is so common on an album like this. Instead the band goes for hard rocking songs throughout, luckily though the quality of these songs makes that a good choice.

This album comes highly recommended.
