We Talk Music is heading across the pond! This time Brett welcomes Magnum vocalist Bob Catley to We Talk Music. A versatile singer (who is a lot of fun as well) has been with Magnum from the start and he knows a good thing when he sees (or hears) it.
Magnum has been creating heavy rock masterpieces since the late 1970’s. They broke up the band in the mid 1990s, but reformed in 2001 and they are only getting bigger and better. On January 17th, the rocking new album The Serpent Rings was released via Steamhammer/SPV. We talk that as well as a bunch of other topics including:
- The Serpent Rings being their 21st album
- The way Bob Catley and Tony Clarkin work together
- New bass player Dennis Ward
- Coming back to Magnum in 2001 and getting back to the Magnum sound
- SPV as a label
- How Bob remembers the lyrics to the songs
- What Bob brings to Tony’s songs
- The passion for the music and going into the studio to record
