Now, who doesn’t like some good, old fashion, in your face metal? Odds are as a We Talk Music listener you do. so hopefully you’re as excited about the new release of French Canadian rockers Sword as we are.

After releasing two extremely critically acclaimed albums in 1986’s Metalized and 1988’s Sweet Dreams. it’s been an extremely long wait for the new album III which is out Nov. 25th. The boys have been keeping busy in the music industry and even officially reformed way back in 2011, so trust us when we say we’ve heard the album and they never lost their chops. With an ode to NWOBHM and influences from progressive melodic giants like Rush, Sword has a sound all their own you need to check out.

Vocalist Rick Hughes and guitarist Mike Plant were very generous with their time and went through origins and meanings of every single song on III. Plus, Lemmy stories!. That’s right, they did a tour as the special guests of Motorhead back in the day and they gave us Lemmy stories, which we always love. Oh, and a few stories about a little band named Metallica while we’re at it. Trust us, this is good stuff on this show. Enjoy!
