We Talk Music is back in action! This time Brett welcomes back drummer Frankie Banali of Quiet Riot and W.A.S.P. fame to talk about QR’s brand new album, Hollywood Cowboys. It will be available November 8th, 2019, from Frontiers Music.
It’s great to have Frankie back on the show to talk Quiet Riot, especially given his recent health announcement. A lot has changed in his world, including vocalist James Durbin leaving the band and welcoming Jizzy Pearl of Love/Hate back into the fold. But Quiet Riot‘s new album Hollywood Cowboys is his current focus, and we talk that as well as a bunch of other topics including:
- The songwriting process for the new album and how that’s evolved
- New things that Frankie Banali wanted to try on the album
- The decision to bring Jizzy back to the band and what he brings to Quiet Riot
- Upcoming shows and future touring plans
- Missing shows with the band due to his health, and what the future holds there
- The decision about when to tell fans about his health and how they have responded to the news
- Keeping alive the legacy of Quiet Riot and there place in history
- Kevin DuBrow and his life
- The new video for In the Blood
- The importance of the mask to Quiet Riot
