The following interview with Carmine Appice is dedicated by We Talk Music to the memory of Vanilla Fudge’s Tim Bogert.
This is it, the one you’ve been waiting for folks, a definitive interview with rock’s most influential drummer Carmine Appice.
As we promised you in the post from our previous interview with Carmine, he’s back to answer all our questions about his illustrious career.
Very few people have lived a life like Carmine Appice, and if you don’t believe us check out his incredible autobiography Stick It!: My Life of Sex, Drums, and Rock ‘n’ Roll. In this episode we go into the writing of the book and get Carmine to share some of our favorite stories from the book. As well there is a long discussion on a project that Carmine did that he truly loved, and WTM hosts Brett and Morten feel the same way. If you’re a regular listener you might have already figured out we’re talking about the supergroup Blue Murder, with Carmine Appice, John Sykes and Tony Franklin, and the self titled 1989 album which may have been the best thing to come out that year. It’s a great discussion about it, as the project deserves.
So strap yourself in for the next hour and listen to the great discussion with Carmine and then go check out some of his music from his illustrious career… You won’t regret it!
