We Talk Music is way down South! This time Brett welcomes Molly Hatchet band leader and guitarist Bobby Ingram to the show. A veteran of the Southern music scene, Bobby has been with Molly Hatchet for 33 years and is keeping the band going strong.
Molly Hatchet has been dishing out helpings of Southern rock for over 40 years. The untimely passing of vocalist Phil McCormack prompted the band to find a new singer and delayed the release of their new live album, but the wait is worth it. On November 29th, the energetic, hits laden double album Battleground was released via Steamhammer/SPV. We talk that as well as a bunch of other topics including:
- The length of time it took to record the new live album
- The involvement of the fans in the recording process
- The spirit of the band as a live act
- What new singer Jimmy Elkins brings to the band
- Keeping Southern rock alive
- The generations of Molly Hatchet fans
- How Molly Hatchet as a band has had to adapt over 40+ years
- How the media has backed the band along the way
- The members of the band and their personalities
- Paul Raymond Gregory and the album covers
