With the release of Iron Man in 2008 and the launch of the Marvel Cinematic Universe everything changed, from expectations the fans had to the way hollywood looked at connected universes.

But before that there was another game changer in 1978 with Superman starring Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder, Gene Hackman,Marlon Brando, and directed by Richard Donner.
