The lockdown started to get the the Cult Film Showdown team so they decided to set up their own Weird Short Films Festival! This episode’s shorts are viral video Rappin’ for Jesus and the educational film We Must Defeat VD, brought to us by Nic!
Rappin’ for Jesus was made to promote a youth outreach program for the West Dubuque 2nd Church of Christ, and features Pastor and Mrs. Colerick rapping about how to be a Christian. (or … was it…?)
The outbreaks in World War II in 1939 brought interest in the sex education by the Public and the government. During this time period military maneuvers and activities, sexual hygiene and conduct had proven to be a major problem for the Worlds’ Armies, and WW2 proved to be no different. And they answered the call with films like We Must Defeat VD.
So sit back and enjoy the laughs as The Cult Film Showdown finds out if learning really is fun!
